Australians have always loved a good barbeque, and this is the perfect excuse! The Big Aussie Barbie is a campaign organised by the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia (PCFA) to help raise awareness and funding for the foundation.
Over 20 000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year and the disease has relatively low awareness and funding. This is what the PCFA is trying to change.
Anyone can get involved in Big Aussie Barbie month – all you need to do is host a barbeque! It could be with friends in the backyard, at a local school or turn into a work function.
The campaign will officially launch with a public community barbeque at Treasure Gardens from 11.30am-2pm on Thursday 3 September.
