Protect your passwords

Hackers are becoming all too common nowadays. One of my websites was recently hacked and the resulting mess was not pretty. According to Author Media, there were more than one million hacking attempts on April 11, 2013.

Passwords are hard to keep track of. I forget half of mine all the time, and then I reset them and the cycle repeats the next time I need to access an account!

However, there are online password managers that help you to keep track of these things. I tried out one called Dashlane. It’s a surprisingly simple (and free) service that stores all of your passwords that you can access with one master password.

It is also easy to install and has a user-friendly interface. Best of all, you can download the app to your phone to use it there too! There are also extra features such as auto fill in (once connected to your browser) and options for filling in your credit card details to easily complete a transaction.

I always forget which password I’ve used for what, so to me this is a blessing to have. JustHost also recommends trying LastPass 3.0, but I chose to trial Dashlane because they allowed you to access the app for free on mobile.
